Our Story

At Black Duck Outdoors, we are a family-owned woodworking business dedicated to crafting exceptional custom wood birdhouses, unique gifts, and outdoor home decor with unmatched craftsmanship.


Our story began in 1969, when the matriarch and patriarch of our family, affectionately known as "Black Duck," were married. The outdoors quickly became a cherished part of our family’s life, especially at Kerr Lake, where the "Black Duck" earned his memorable call sign. Over time, this nickname became a beloved symbol, representing not just our family but a shared connection to the outdoors and a legacy of artisanal excellence.
